  • This statue is a replica of the original statue in Jōruri-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan (the original is designated as Japan's important cultural property). The original is said to be made in 1213 during the Kamakura period (1185-1333)
  • Kissyo-ten holds a jewel called the Nyoi-hoju (Cintamani) on her left hand which fulfills wishes. She is considered the goddess of beauty, wealth and happiness. Her husband is Bisyamon-ten (Vaisravana), and she is often represented as a lady from the Tang Dynasty. Although the original of this statue was created in 1212, its coloring remains vibrant to this day, mainly because it has been kept hidden from view and was rarely exposed to light
